I am a little late in blogging about it, but how about them Giants. I think it was Wade Phillips of the Dallas Cowboys who said, “The best team did not win today.” Well I think the Giants proved otherwise and they are going to the Super Bowl because of it. Being that the temperature was at -4 and the wind chill made it feel like -24 degrees, I believe the New York Giants deserve some real credit here.

Giants Did It!
Jan 22
Finally, after losing twice to the Dallas Cowboys, my New York Giants win the game that actually mattered this season. This win coming after Romo made headlines in the tabloids for his Mexican getaway with Jessica Simpson. Personally I think his vacation was in poor taste and showed arrogance on his part.
The Giants scored on the very first possession with a pass to Amani Toomer for a touchdown and the Cowboys soon came back and led the game 14-7. You could tell the Dallas sidelines reemed with overconfidence and it showed when the Giants ended up scoring just before the half to tie it. The Giants shutdown the Cowboys the second half only allowing 3 points, and Barber to rush for about 26 yards when he rushed for over 100 in the first half.
I am excited to see the game next Sunday and watch out Packers! ?
Governor Huckabee has impressed me tremendously over the last few months, and I personally would love the opportunity to vote for him come November 2008. Be sure to visit Mike Huckabee’s blog site when you can.
I like his style of communicating with both regular citizens and the press. I am not a fan of Mitt Romney due to his stance of arrogance when he is debating with the other candidates. Mitt Romney decided to become negative first and I believe that is why he lost in both Iowa and New Hampshire tonight. Mitt Romney has money on his side in regards to continuing his campaign.
I am hoping that Fred Thompson will drop out before South Carolina and endorse Mike Huckabee to edge in a win in that state for the Arkansas governor. Unfortuantely the write-ins had a 1 percent margin over Thompson in the New Hampshire primary. Fred Thompson in my opinion has only run on the I am a Reagan Republican ticket, and produced only confusion as to why he is really running for the nomination.
While Guliani is camping out big time in Florida hoping for the delegate saturated state to put him on the map, he unfortunately has chosen to ignore Iowa which may have cost him some momentum needed to compete in the smaller primaries that litter this time of the year. Guliani is too liberal on social issues to really win the republican base, but may end up being the only one who could compete with a Clinton or Obama nomination this summer.
John McCain is a true patriot and I shed tears when I hear his story and his sacrifice will stand tall among voters, but his stands on immigration alone will compel the republican base to distrust him from the outset. Senator McCain won New Hampshire, but New Hampshire has often been a liberal to moderate state. Eventually John McCain will have to voice exactly what he plans to do as President or he will have another 2000 experience.
Ron Paul needs to simply drop out of the race or at least run as an Independant. Paul is simply not a conservative, or at least not now. Go Mike Huckabee!
Being a pastor and a father of three daughters, I have made a decision to sell my XBOX 360 Premium and all my games as well. I have a decent military background and was always compelled to play shooters and military strategy games, and my daughters would end up catching a glimpse of this action.
I decided this about 12 Noon on Saturday and began scanning my favorite classifieds site, craigslist.org. I began making calls and ended up finding a Nintendo Wii in Richardson, TX for $330 (overpriced but out of stock everywhere). I listed my XBOX on craigslist about 1 PM and sold it by 2:30 PM that day and picked up the Nintendo Wii with the money.
I used to always revert to eBay first, but with craigslist being local I have decided my first thought will now be craigslist.org.
After roughing it out at the Parks at Arlington, my wife and I were really looking forward to eating at the Spaghetti Warehouse.
Menu Selection – 14 out of 17
The menu hada great selection of italian dishes, appetizers, salads, and desserts. It was actually a little difficult to make a selection due to so many choices.
Beverage Service – 13 out of 16
Our server was pretty good at refilling our waters.
Overall Service – 13 out of 17
The service was average as the server seemed real busy.
Food – 7 of 17
I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and sausage and my wife ordered the same minus the sausage. I will say it point blank… the meat sauce was bad. It was entirely too sweet, and no even close to a true italian sauce. The bread reminded me of package hoagies from the grocery store, and the only saving grace was the calamari.
Ambience – 4 of 16
The restaurant was not that full but they placed inside of a trolley where we only had about two feet separating us from the table next to us We could also look down and see the table to my left and literally see and hear everything going on. The ambience was horrible.
Overall Value – 9 of 17
Not a good place to eat and would not recommend it at all.
Total Score – 60 out of 100
I have made a New Year’s resolution for 2008 and it is a unique one at best. My father is Guatamalan and my mother was a mix of Irish and Dutch. I live about 45 minutes from family here is Dallas and they all speak Spanish and guess what? I do not speak Spanish and this has left a sort of handicap and scar for me in general.
I have decided to invest in Rosetta Stone’s online subscription to Latin American Spanish for three months. I am currently on Level 1 Unit 1 lesson 4 and it is fun and a good brush up on basics. I am hoping to be done with level 2 in three months so that I can defend not actually buying the software for $300. So far the software is good, but I only have some much cheaper software to compare it to in the past.
Stay tuned for updates on my learning spanish through Rosetta Stone.
