Planned Parenthood Endorses Full Sex Education to 10 Year Olds!

A fox news article I just read is quite disturbing. A report that is advocated by the International Planned Parenthood Federation states that children should be given a comprehensive sex education at the age of 10 and above, and the report goes on to belittle the Catholic and Islamic movements for depriving their children of such an education. This report condones that the government should be resposible to teach young children about the repoductive process as well the "pleasures" involved.

sex education should be "recast" to show sexuality as a "positive force for change and development, as a source of pleasure, an embodiment of human rights and an expression of self."

In the words of Hillary Clinton "it takes a village to raise children" so this report goes further to tear down the role of Mom and Dad. I encourage all Christians and conservatives to not only read this report, but be on guard, pray, contact your representatives, and board of education. This should not be tolerated, and Planned Parenthood should not be allowed to define what a parent's role is in the home.

Proper Hermeneutics – Obedience to the Old Testament

The belief that Christians are required to obey the Old Testament laws regarding sacrifice, clothing, and diet would be a direct result from poor hermeneutics. This can easily be refuted if the interpreter used scripture to interpret scripture, and understood that there are three types of laws in the Old Testament. There are moral laws like that of the Ten Commandments, ceremonial laws which gave structure to a specific culture bringing clarity to the identity of Israel as a nation, and finally civil laws which would obviously not pertain to modern Christians and existing governments.

First, considering the rule of allowing scripture to interpret scripture, we must pay close attention to what the New Testament includes and excludes from its text. Hebrews 7:18, 19 states, “The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.” If we choose to wear only one blend of fabric per outfit (Lev 19:19) because we believe it to be mandatory, then we open the door to rules of slavery that apply in Leviticus 19:20 which most Christians would agree to be absurd, especially in our culture. The ceremonial and civil laws of the Old Testament were in place to provide the nation of Israel a temporary method of keeping the peace, health, and overall well-being of the nation in an orderly fashion. The interpreter that believes sacrifices are still mandatory is rejecting the sacrifice of Christ, whom appeared once for all sins as the only true and acceptable atonement. (Heb. 9:26)

In order to have a full understanding of the Old Testament scriptures that entail rules regarding clothing, sacrifices, and diet we must first realize they are obsolete in direct application to the modern believer. The reading of these passages are no less important to the believer than any other portion of the scriptures as these ceremonial and civil laws are part of the bigger picture of God’s plan of salvation and redemption starting with Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth.

Experiencing God’s Presence

As Christians, we should desire to see God’s glory arond us and through us. Last week we talked about being hungry and thirsty for God.

Entering Into God’s Presence

How do you enter into God’s presence? What does entering into God’s presence mean to you?

Entering into His presence means simply, to be before God willingly and openly. You must be vulnerable, open to hear God’s voice through His word and prayer. It takes little effort from you to be in God’s presence. If you are not willing, know that Jesus is always there, but you can only enter His presence when you acknowledge Him as who He is- Almighty God.

How do we enter into His Presence?

Stop Being A Spectator

Many people limit their relationship with God to what they observe, and never relying on the potential that their relationship with Jesus really holds.

Praise Him Despite Our Circumstances

Even when life is at it’s lowest point… try reading Psalm 61

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  Psalm 91:1

Being in the presence of God is not a feeling, and we should never limit God to what we feel at the moment.
